UAE Gold Prices Remain Stable as 22K Gold Stays Below Dh500 Per Gram Amid Changing US Rate Expectations

UAE Gold Prices remained largely stable on Tuesday, while 22K gold continued trading below Dh500 per gram. The local market showed limited movement after last week’s strong rally. Meanwhile, investors continued assessing the outlook for US interest rates.

At the opening of trading, 24K gold reached Dh533.50 per gram. That price represented an increase of Dh0.75 from the previous market close. However, other gold categories showed relatively modest movements during the morning session.

The 22K category traded at Dh494 per gram on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, 21K gold stood at Dh473.75 per gram. The 18K category reached Dh406, while 14K gold traded at Dh316.75 per gram.

Consequently, prices remained close to recent levels despite changes in international markets. Local buyers continued watching global developments for potential direction. In particular, expectations surrounding US monetary policy remained important for precious metals.

Internationally, spot gold slipped 0.09 percent during early trading. The metal traded around $4,426.10 per ounce at 9:20am UAE time. Meanwhile, silver gained 0.05 percent and reached approximately $66.29 per ounce.

Gold faced renewed pressure following recent comments from Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh. His remarks focused strongly on controlling inflation. Therefore, investors increased expectations that US officials could consider another rate increase later this year.

Higher interest rates can create pressure for gold because the metal does not provide regular interest income. As borrowing costs rise, investors may shift toward interest-bearing assets. Consequently, changing rate expectations can quickly influence gold prices.

The recent weakness also followed gold’s move below its 200-day moving average. Traders often monitor this technical indicator when assessing longer-term price trends. The break below that level added another concern for investors.

Market analysts identified approximately $4,328 per ounce as an important support level. That level represents a 50 percent retracement of the strong rally recorded during August. Traders could therefore monitor the price closely if selling pressure continues.

Currency movements will also remain important for the precious metals market. The US dollar can influence gold because international buyers typically trade the metal in dollars. A stronger dollar can make gold more expensive for buyers using other currencies.

Bond yields also remain a key factor for investors. Rising yields can increase the appeal of government debt compared with non-yielding assets. However, concerns surrounding US government debt continue to influence longer-term market discussions.

Despite the recent weakness, some analysts expect the Federal Reserve to maintain its current approach. They believe inflation pressures could continue easing in the coming months. As a result, they do not currently expect an immediate interest rate increase.

Still, short-term price movements could remain sensitive to economic data and central bank signals. Investors will likely monitor inflation figures, employment data, and future policy comments. These factors could determine the direction of gold during the coming sessions.

For UAE consumers, daily gold prices remain especially important for jewellery purchases. Even small changes can affect the final cost of larger jewellery items. Therefore, shoppers often compare different karats before making purchasing decisions.

The UAE Gold Prices market could continue responding to international developments throughout the week. Local rates will likely reflect movements in global bullion prices and currency conditions. Meanwhile, investors will continue watching monetary policy expectations for further clues.

For now, gold remains close to elevated levels despite its recent pullback. The market continues balancing inflation concerns against expectations for future interest rates. As a result, volatility could remain possible across the precious metals market.
