Saudi Arabia has issued more than 2 million real estate records under its property registration law, Majid Al-Hogail, the Minister of Municipalities and Housing and chairman of the Real Estate General Authority (REGA), said on Monday.
The number of properties in areas announced for registration has exceeded 5 million across the kingdom, in line with the phases and schedules set for each area, Sabq reported.

The registration system records each property’s description, legal and physical status, geospatial location and history.
Al-Hogail said the next phase would extend registration to all cities and regions of the kingdom and widen the range of digital services.
Each record combines the legal force of a title deed, which gains absolute evidentiary status within one year, with a property register holding the asset’s geospatial data and history, said Mohammed Al-Sulaiman, chief executive officer of the National Real Estate Registration Services Co., known as the Real Estate Registry.
Abdullah Al-Hammad, chief executive officer of REGA, said registration would continue to expand across the kingdom’s regions.
